The special Prusa Mini Heatbreak from Squishworx is made of grade 5 titanium. This material is used specifically in the aerospace industry and has a lower thermal conductivity than stainless steel. Due to the lower thermal conductivity, a better defined melting zone is possible.
The extremely smooth surface structure significantly increases the reliability in extrusion. Less blockages and lower extrusion forces are also another positive advantage of the smooth surfaces. Each finished piece is given a final ‘melt zone’ polish using Koyo-Sha titanium buffing and polishing compound for extreme ‘slipperiness’.
The heat break is specially designed for the Original Prusa Mini and Mini+ and is delivered with PTFE tubing precut.
For optimal efficiency, use boron nitride paste before insertion. When tightening the 3 grub screws, gently make contact with the tube, try not to over tighten. Titanium is much stronger than steel, but brittle.
Make sure to push the heat break up as far as you can into the heat sink.
